What is in a module?
- Introduction: This might include:
- An introduction to the writer and his credentials.
- An overview of the module.
- Objectives, including TEKS/TAKS to be addressed.
- Instructional Material: This might include:
- Actual handouts that the participant would receive if attending a workshop.
- Written instructions the workshop leader would normally give verbally.
- Diagrams, pictures, graphs that might have been shown on an overhead in a workshop.
- Activities: You will be given complete instructions for carrying out the activities as well as any needed handouts. The specific activities may vary, but may include some of the following:
- Planning or completing a project with your class.
- Researching a subject on the internet
- Adapting a classroom handout to your own unique situation.
- Designing a web page.
- Practicing on a procedure that you have learned in the instructional material.
- Student Handouts: Some modules will include specific handouts that are ready to be used with your students.
- Assessment: An objective exam of 20 questions or less that will show that the participant has indeed gone through the instructional material and the activities. Participants must make a grade of 70 or more on the assessment in order to receive a certificate.
